Dear Mommy and Daddy,
I am looking down on you from Heaven, and I see the tears you’ve shed
My room is full of bottles filled with every tear drop fallen from your head
How I wish that you could see me now so whole and so well
And the things I am seeing here no mortal tongue could tell
I know you’ve sought understanding and have asked the question why
Why your precious baby boy would grow in the womb just to die
The answer lies beyond the gates of Heaven and at the throne of Grace
Where one day we will meet again when you have finished the race
I cannot answer this queston yet, but what I know I’ll tell you
I was not an accident or a mistake, this much I know is true
For I was lovingly created inside the womb by a devine hand
Though the world saw imperfection, God saw a miracle so grand
I know that my time with you seemed short and bittersweet
But for that short moment, it was for you my heart did beat
I felt the many tears that dropped from your face
And I felt great love in your warm embrace
I heard the beautiful melody of your voice as you sang
Once again I felt great love as from your mouth it rang
I knew from every action that was made, every word that was spoken
Although we would soon part, the bond between us would not be broken
In my short moments on this earth, I knew imeasurable love
I sensed in you a great faith that only comes from up above
I knew that I was blessed beyond measure
For God had truly given me the greatest treasure
God hand-picked you when he chose my mom and dad
For He knew the capacity of the love and faith you had
Thank you for the gift of life that I could have a soul
Because I lived I now walk on streets of gold
I am watching you each moment, and in your heart, I am with you
I can’t wait until you get here; I just know you’ll love the view!
